Future & Scope of Mechanical Engineering

Future & Scope of Mechanical Engineering (Mech)

mechanical

Mechanical Engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines.
The engineering field requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, and others.

Job  & Salary Prospect

A graduate programme in Mechanical Engineering in a private institution would cost anywhere between Rs. 50000 to Rs. 200000 per annum. Nonetheless, if you are lucky enough to get through any of the IITs or a government engineering college, the expenses will be far less (around 30,000 to 40,000 per annum).
Moreover there are several scholarships available for meritorious students and students in need. Among Indian organizations, Indian Oil offers scholarships. Other institutions also offer scholarships in the same field.
There is a wide scope for mechanical engineering worldwide.mechanical engineers are the second highest employed engineers among all others with only 7% unemployed whereas any normal engineering stream would have around 15% unemployed engineers worldwide.we have the automobile industry, oil and gas production companies, aeronautical field, cement industries, design sector, chemical industries, heavy machinery sector, information technology, defense and above all the booming construction field always waiting on for mechanical engineers with lucrative pays and packages.

The fundamental subjects of mechanical engineering usually include:
  • Mathematics (in particular, calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra)
  • Statics and dynamics
  • Strength of materials and solid mechanics
  • Material Engineering, Composites
  • Thermodynamics, heat transfer, energy conversion, and HVAC
  • Fuels, combustion, Internal combustion engine
  • Fluid mechanics, including fluid statics and fluid dynamics
  • Mechanism or Machine design (including kinematics and dynamics)
  • Instrumentation and measurement
  • Manufacturing engineering, technology, or processes
  • Vibration, control theory and control engineering
  • Hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Mechatronics and robotics.
  • Engineering design and Product design.
  • Design engineering, Drafting, computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM).

  3. Engineers are undoubtedly one of the best paid professionals across the globe. In the past one decade, not only the number of engineering graduates has increased phenomenally, but also the advent of fields and sectors to work in, thanks to the tech boom!
With the world growing fast, the platter of choices in career has been enlarging with every year passing by. Gone are the days when becoming a Doctor, Engineer or Teacher was only a big deal. Today, as we have completed a decade and half of the millennium year, we have come across many career opportunities in life.
It can be hard to feel encouraged about job prospects in a degrading economy, but just because few industries have lost their value and position doesn’t mean it’s impossible to find a job in a good field of career. The key to get successful professionally is to look for jobs in career fields experiencing significant and continued growth.
Engineering on a whole is itself a best choice to choose as a career but mechanical engineering alone a career is really lucrative!! All the Engineering jobs are in the blooming zone as nowadays.Mechanical engineers have diversified job options with various multi-functionalities that can be done. There is a myth about the deficiency of mechanical engineers jobs! But the real scenario is that, people are not aware much about the right platforms to find the suitable jobs according to their profile!!Otherwise there is lot of opportunities in Pune, Delhi,Chennai,Bangalore, Hyderabad and all the other cities.
Thus a job seeker wizard has phenomenal job options in his hand.
Good luck to all the mechanical engineering graduates who are currently looking for the job!!
